About the event
Friends of Northern Lake Champlain and Northwest Regional Planning Commission are so excited to host Tales from the Watershed this summer! Join us from 5-8 pm on Saturday, July 12th at St. Albans Bay State Park. Members of our community will be coming to share personal stories about how our waters have impacted them. There will also be food for sale, music, and activities for all ages. We invite you to bring your friends and family and plenty of blankets and chairs to sit on. You do not have to register to attend, but if you are interested in becoming a storyteller, read below and register!
Call for Storytellers: Tales of the Watershed
Do you have a story to tell about our lake or rivers? A memory, a lesson, or a moment that shaped your connection to the water?
We invite you to share your story at Tales of the Watershed, a community storytelling event celebrating our deep ties to the waterways that sustain us. Whether it’s an adventure, a childhood memory, or a reflection on how the water has changed, your voice matters.
How to Participate:
🌊 Theme: Ecology or wildlife, Adventure/ Discovery, History of the Lake, Overcoming challenges and obstacles, Cultural/ Family tradition, Lessons taught by the water, Your first memory on the Lake, etc.
📅 Event Date: Saturday, July 12th, 5-8pm
📍 Location: St. Albans Bay State Park
🎤 Story Length: 5-10 minutes (spoken word, poem, or anecdote)
No storytelling experience? No problem! We welcome all voices and can offer guidance to help shape your story. For help or guidance with your story, use the document below.
