2022 Annual Field Day

We are excited to announce our 2022 Annual Field Day being held at the Borderview Research Farm!

Yes, we will be on-farm and in-person!

WHEN: Thursday, July 28

TIME: 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Advanced registration (by noon July 27) is required online at http://go.uvm.edu/annualfieldday

Cost is $25 per non-farmer and free for farmers. Includes lunch.

Arrive early to check-in, visit with exhibitors, and start networking! We will start with a tour of the farm at 10:00 a.m. sharp. We will stop and hear research updates and information at several research trials including perennial forages, corn, soybeans, small grains, hemp, dry beans, and more!

An Exhibitor Tent will be on-site and still has openings for a table. Go to http://go.uvm.edu/conferences to download the exhibitor form or contact Susan.Brouillette@uvm.edu.

After a great lunch and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, you can choose to attend one of the following afternoon sessions:

· Grains—hear about rye end-uses, partake in a rye sensory tasting session, and learn about grain quality for spirits.

· Hemp—learn about what changes will be implemented under the new federal management (now USDA Hemp Program), learn about best end-use practices for hemp fiber and grain trials, see prototypes of hemp products, and also enjoy a hempcrete demo.

· Forages—managing forage crops for optimal yield and quality to feed more forage will be discussed. Nutritionists and grazing experts will share tips and considerations for successfully feeding more homegrown forage. We’ll share research results on species and varieties, discuss harvest and soil fertility management, and look at equipment options for seeding and calculating seeding rates.

· Soil Health and Climate Resiliency—Dig in with us! We will demo tools that measure characteristics of healthy living soils and discuss connections between soil health and climate resilience. Discuss with us the ways field management can influence soil health and contribute to climate resiliency.

Register today – we hope to see you at the field day!
